Brazil and Israel turned in strong performances on the first day of the 2021 IWBF Men’s U23 World Championship, which is being held in the Sports Complex of the Prince of Songkla University, Phuket Campus in Phuket, Thailand. The event is being held in conjunction with the 2021 IWBF Men’s U23 World Championship.
The score was 59–39 in favor of Brazil.

A team from the same Zone as Brazil, Canada, competed in the opening match of the 2021 IWBF Men’s U23 World Championship and was beaten by Brazil. During the Americas qualifier tournament that took place in Mexico this year, both teams faced off against one another twice, and both emerged victorious on both occasions. At the end of the first quarter, Brazil led Canada by 7 points, but Canada roared back to trim the gap to just 2 points, finishing the quarter with an 11-9 score.
After taking the second quarter with a score of 17-6, Brazil had a 13-point lead over Canada at the break (28-15).
After increasing their advantage to 44-25 at the end of the third quarter, they decided to rest players for the fourth quarter, which they ended up losing 15-14.
Both teams were led by their leaders, with Cristiano Clemente of Brazil scoring 20 points and 12 rebounds and Garrett Ostepchuk of Canada scoring 14 points. Both captains scored in double figures.
On September 8, Group A leaders Brazil face France, while Group B runners-up Canada take on Spain.
K UP was victorious on the first day of the U23 World Championships.
Israel triumphs against Australia, 51–44.

Israel was able to secure a win in the second game of the U23 World Championship by withstanding a furious comeback attempt by Australia.
Both teams scored 12 points in the first quarter, which was a tight contest; the second quarter was just as close, until Israel surged ahead late to take a 7-point lead into the locker room at the half (27-20).
In the third quarter, Israel was able to seize control of the game and increase their lead to 39-25 by outscoring their opponents 12-5. During the middle of the fourth quarter, Israel held a 19-point advantage against Australia, but Australia staged a comeback and narrowed the score to three points. The result of the third and final quarter was 19-12 in favor of Australia.

The highest point total was earned by Radi Dagamin of Israel with 18 points, followed by Jaylen Brown of Australia with 16 points and Thomas McHugh of Australia with 10 points.
Both teams are taking today off in order to rest up before picking back up where they left off on Friday, September 9th.
